How to Get Rid of Cat Urine Odor

We brought a mamma cat from our neighborís house last year and in time at all, she became a close member of our family. Last month she gave birth to six kittens that are just incredibly sweet. But, and this is a big but, their cuteness and sweetness are threatening to turn sour because we just canít toilet train them. Result: they pee all over the house and getting rid of the urine odor is becoming a Herculean task!

Carpets! The vibrant area to smell fowl

Cats have a tendency to gather around the carpet and play on the pile. Obviously, they like the softness and the smooth texture. But whenever nature calls, they donít walk to the litter box, but instead relieve themselves then and there. And then the unspeakable odor spreads through the house. So how do you get rid of it?

To remove the odor of cat urine, you need something that can nullify the odor by spreading a different fragrance. Enzyme odor neutralizers work to keep away the smell of cat urine from carpets and also prevent the carpet from getting damaged.

If your cat constantly urinates in a particular area of your house, that area automatically becomes unhygienic and the odor is particularly intense here. So prevent such a habit from developing.

A safe bleach is the best solution in such situations. Bleach not only protects the surface but also eliminates the bad odor.

Ban the bad odor

To remove odor from bed sheets, curtains and carpets, use the various products available specifically for this purpose. These cleaning solutions also clear urine stains and drive away the bad odor so completely that after a wash it will be impossible for you to find out where the cat actually urinated. However, you have to remember the proportion when using these products. You might need to mix it with water in the perfect ratio.

Use baking soda

Baking soda is always there in your kitchen. So whenever the cat urinates on your bed or anywhere else in the house, make a baking powder solution with vinegar and cornstarch and some essence that smells good (a sprinkle of room freshener will do). Wipe the affected area well with this solution and wash it off. No smell, no stain, nothing!
